- Abstract
- On 13 March 2015, category 5 Cyclone Pam slammed into Vanuatu severely affecting over 200,000 people and destroying and damaging agricultural livelihoods, infrastructure and food resources across the sectors of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, forestry and biosecurity. The overall purpose of the workshop was to identify how, based on the wide array of experiences and lessons from Cyclone Pam, the RRU/FSAC is able to perform better in future disaster contexts. Summarized here are 10 key lessons and recommendations gathered from over thirty participants representing Government of Vanuatu, local and international NGOs, development partners and the private sector.
